Punto de Vista named 2025 Doc Alliance Guest festival

The documentary film festival network #Doc Alliance# has announced that #Punto de Vista#, the International Documentary Film Festival of Navarra, will be its guest festival for 2025. The decision was made during the annual Doc Alliance meeting in December 2024, where the seven partner festivals expressed gratitude to #Docudays UA#, the 2024 guest festival.

As a guest festival, Punto de Vista will participate in Doc Alliance’s events, engaging in discussions on topics such as education, emerging talents, XR programming, inclusivity, and sustainability. Additionally, the festival will nominate one short and one feature-length film for the Doc Alliance Award and take part in selecting this year’s jury.

To mark its participation, Punto de Vista will screen the latest Doc Alliance Award winner, The Landscape and the Fury by Nicole Vögele, on 28 February, as part of its upcoming festival edition (24 February – 1 March) in Pamplona, Spain.

Founded in 2005, Punto de Vista is a key platform for innovative documentary cinema, drawing inspiration from the ethical and artistic principles of Jean Vigo. Organized by NICDO and supported by the Government of Navarra, the festival continues to highlight cutting-edge trends in nonfiction filmmaking.

Doc Alliance comprises seven major European documentary festivals—CPH:DOX, Doclisboa, DOK Leipzig, FIDMarseille, Ji.hlava IDFF, Millennium Docs Against Gravity FF, and Visions du Réel. Each year, the network and its guest festival select films to compete for the #Doc Alliance Award#, with the 2025 shortlist set to be announced in May. The winners will be revealed at #Cannes Docs# (Marché du Film, 13–21 May).
