CPH:FORUM 2024, scheduled from March 17-22, 2024, is set to host an impressive roster of filmmakers and producers, including the likes of Rintu Thomas, Sushmit Ghosh, Sky Hopinka, and Talal Derki. Their projects, alongside others, will vie for prestigious awards at CPH:INDUSTRY. The selection of 32 projects for this year’s forum represents a diverse array of narratives, from intimate personal stories to sweeping global themes, crafted by over 65 filmmakers from 26 countries.
A special highlight of the event is the CPH:WIP and CHANGE presentations. CPH:WIP aims to provide a platform for both Nordic and international projects seeking gap financing or distribution channels, featuring a selection of six promising works. Meanwhile, the CHANGE projects focus on Eastern European perspectives, bringing forward the voices of filmmakers from the EaP countries through a co-production training program.
Moreover, the introduction of new industry awards, including the Innovation Award and the Outreach Award, in partnership with Eurimages, highlights the forum’s ongoing efforts to support experimental and innovative projects. These awards, along with the Rise And Shine Award and others, underline the forum’s dedication to nurturing projects with international potential and engaging audiences worldwide.
With the confirmation of participation from over 270 financiers and decision-makers, including key representatives from leading streaming platforms, broadcasters, film studios, and philanthropic foundations, CPH:FORUM 2024 positions itself as a critical gathering within the documentary film industry. This extensive network of participants from organisations such as Netflix, MUBI, HBO Europe, ARTE, ZDF, and Participant Media, among others, signifies the forum’s role as a pivotal platform for documentary filmmakers. It aims to facilitate connections, foster collaborations, and showcase a wide range of projects to an audience that spans the global documentary filmmaking community.
