CPH:CONFERENCE 2025, presented in collaboration with #Documentary Campus#, has announced its official lineup, featuring a roster of filmmakers, industry figures, and thought leaders. Taking place from 24-28 March at Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen, the conference will explore pressing topics in documentary filmmaking, from artificial intelligence to investigative journalism and climate justice.
Curated by former BBC Storyville and Fremantle executive Mandy Chang, this year’s program promises to engage attendees with discussions on innovation and challenges within the industry. Among the key speakers are Christo Grozev, James Jones, Alexis Bloom, Kate Townsend, Sam Soko, Mstyslav Chernov, and Nathan Grossman.
The conference opens with the #CPH:DOX Summit on 24 March, followed by in-depth conversations during the ‘A Morning With…’ series (25-27 March), hosted by #Thom Powers#. Filmmakers Violet Du Feng, Sam Soko, and #Mark Cousins# will reflect on their latest works and the evolving landscape of documentary storytelling. The ‘Dialogues’ sessions will then provide a platform for filmmakers to examine industry trends, creative processes, and new approaches to non-fiction cinema.
Key panels include The Cost of Exposing Truth to Power, featuring investigative journalist Christo Grozev and filmmakers James Jones and Jenny Raskin, as well as Producing for Success, which will explore funding strategies for independent documentaries. The conference concludes with Climate Story Lab Nordic, a participatory session dedicated to advancing climate storytelling in Nordic media.
