Discover the Indian filmmaking talents of tomorrow with DAFilms

DAFilms.com, in association with the Creative Documentary Course (CDC) at SACAC in New Delhi, has curated a selection of short documentaries showcasing the talents of emerging Indian filmmakers. Since its inception in 2013, the CDC has served as a platform for reinterpreting cinematic practices, focusing on ethical and aesthetic engagements with real-world issues.

The course pushes students beyond mere technical proficiency. It emphasises a nuanced understanding of storytelling that questions monolithic definitions and explores fresh perspectives through meticulous observation, research, and understanding. This rigorous process involves engaging with the politics of representation, urging students to develop new forms of expression that challenge conventional norms.

CDC’s pedagogy stands out for its multidisciplinary approach, blending various art forms to foster an atmosphere of experimentation and independent thinking. The students are mentored by an eclectic faculty sourced both domestically and internationally, with the aim of producing filmmakers who contribute meaningfully to global conversations about ethics and human values.

As we navigate increasingly complex social and political landscapes, the need for ethical storytelling is more pressing than ever. CDC’s collaboration with DAFilms.com brings these vital narratives to a broader audience, highlighting a new generation of Indian filmmakers committed to holistic and ethical storytelling. Applications for the CDC’s next course intake are now open.
