To provide year-round support for IDFA Alumni, the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam has launched IDFA Project Space, its new talent development programme.
In offering creative and professional development to selected filmmakers from the IDFA Competition for First Appearance, IDFA Bertha Fund, and IDFAcademy, 10 filmmaking teams (5 script development; 5 editing) have been selected for the programme’s 29 June 2020 first session start date (with follow up sessions occurring late summer-autumn 2020).
Under the guidance of IDFA and mentorship from renowned documentary industry names, IDFA Project Space teams will learn from the likes of producer Signe Byrge Sørensen (The Act of Killing, The Look of Silence); directors Alan Berliner (First Cousin Once Removed, Letter to the Editor), Emma Davie (Becoming Animal, I Am Breathing), and Maite Alberdi (The Grown-Ups, Tea Time); and editors Gladys Joujou (A Comedian in a Syrian Tragedy, Ghost Hunting), Ollie Huddleston (Shooting the Mafia, Dream Catcher), and Jesper Osmund (Prison Sisters, A Bastard Child), as well as filmmaker Karim Aïnouz and producer/ psychotherapist Rebecca Day.
