The 66th Krakow Film Festival has announced its winners, with Swiss documentary Tristan Forever, directed by Tobias Nölle and Loran Bonnardot, taking the Golden Horn in the International Documentary Competition. The festival ran in cinemas from 31 May to 7 June 2026, with its online KFF VOD programme continuing from 5 to 19 June.

In the same competition, Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk received the Silver Horn for high artistic merit for Silent Flood, while Pepa Lubojacki’s If Pigeons Turned to Gold was awarded the Silver Horn for a film highlighting social issues.

The International Short Film Competition’s Golden Dragon went to Jack Wedge and Will Freudenheim for Acid City. The Silver Dragons went to Paweł Chorzępa’s The Tuners for documentary, Bea Lema’s Corpus Christi for animation and Jessy Moussallem’s Faux Bijoux for fiction.

In DocFilmMusic, the Golden Heynal for best music documentary went to Olivér Márk Tóth for Meant to Be. The award places the film among the festival’s major 2026 winners and underlines Krakow’s continuing role as a key European platform for music documentary.

Polish cinema was led by Piotr Małecki and Maciek Nabrdalik’s Tickling the Devil, which won the Golden Hobby-Horse for best feature-length documentary and shared the Audience Award with Katrine Philp’s Where Music Grows. The national short prizes went to Alexandra “Sasha” Kutsen’s Wszystkie miały na imię Anżelika, Jakub Piątek’s Bacewicz x Bomsori and Alicja Jasina’s Prawie nad morzem, czyli parówa.

Additional honours included the Maciej Szumowski Award for Katarzyna Kultys’ House of Ants, the cinematography prize for Mateusz Czuchnowski on Steps in Silence, a European Film Award recommendation for Marcin Borchardt’s Magic Hour, and the inaugural Marcel Łoziński Documentary Award for David Bim’s To the West, in Zapata.
