The Sarajevo Film Festival has unveiled its Competition Programme for Documentary Films, curated by #Rada Šešić#. This year’s lineup features 21 films, with 19 competing for awards and two showcased out of competition. The selection includes a mix of world, international, European, regional, and Bosnian and Herzegovinian premieres, promising a diverse and enriching cinematic experience.
Competition Programme – Documentary Film 2024
The jury for this year’s competition includes #Mandy Chang#, Founder and Creative Director of Undeniable, Fremantle’s label, USA; #Marek Hovorka#, Founder and Director of Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, Czech Republic; and #Wang Xiaoshuai#, a director, writer, and producer from China. The awards include the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Documentary Film, with a prize of €4,000 sponsored by the Government of Switzerland; the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Short Documentary Film, which comes with a €2,000 prize; the Human Rights Award, carrying a €3,000 prize sponsored by the Kingdom of the Netherlands; and the Special Jury Prize, which includes a €2,500 award.
