DokuFest has announced the complete lineup of films for its 22nd edition. With an increase of 22% in submissions compared to the previous year, the festival received a total of 3,481 films from 111 countries. 104 films were selected across eight competition sections with more in the complete programme to come.

As an esteemed platform for both documentary and narrative short films, DokuFest showcases a range of works, including world, international, and European premieres. The festival has established itself as an important launching pad for emerging filmmakers, as well as a platform for renowned directors to present their latest creations. The selected works aim to provoke introspection and explore themes such as humanity’s place in the world, social responsibilities, and the evolving relationship with technology.

In the coming days, DokuFest will announce its eagerly awaited theme, present the View From the World section, focus on a particular country, and curate a variety of programs, discussions, masterclasses, and live music performances.

Across DokuFest titles, films such as 20 Days in Mariupol (dir. Mstyslav Chernov), A Golden Life (dir. Boubacar Sangaré), The DNA of Dignity (dir. Jan Baumgartner), Seven Winters in Tehran (dir. Steffi Niederzoll), and more feature.
