The Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival has announced the 10th edition of #Verzió DocLab#, its five-day documentary development workshop, scheduled for 8–12 November 2025 at the Central European University Budapest Campus. Applications are open until 31 July 2025.
Targeting first or second feature-length documentary projects, the program offers directors, editors, and producers the chance to develop their work with the support of renowned mentors including Brigid O’Shea, Inka Achté, Anna Kis, and Flóra Erdélyi. The workshop, part of the festival’s DocPro industry platform, emphasises story development and editing, culminating in a public pitch to industry professionals and one-on-one feedback sessions.
Selected projects will compete for awards provided by industry partners such as HBO and Focusfox. The initiative is organized in cooperation with the DOC AROUND EUROPE network and partner festivals including #FIPADOC, #DOK.fest München#, #DocsBarcelona, #MakeDox, and #Biografilm. New collaborators for 2025 include #Porto/Post/Doc and #DocPoint Helsinki#.
Filmmakers from across Europe, as well as from #Ukraine and #Georgia, are eligible to apply. Further details and application forms are available at verzio.org.
