The new deadlines are:

Key Programs Open for Submission

Balkan Watchers

Focused on journalistic and investigative storytelling, this program supports documentary films and podcasts from regions with restricted press freedom. Funded by Creative Europe – MEDIA and delivered in collaboration with One World Romania, it offers training, pitching sessions, and up to €25,000 for documentaries and €5,000 for podcasts. The initiative aims to empower creators tackling censored or underfunded societal issues. Twenty projects will be selected, with winners announced at #Sofia DocuMental# in October 2025.

DOCU Rough Cut Boutique

Designed for documentaries in the rough-cut phase, this program offers mentorship from leading editors, producers, and sales agents. In partnership with the Sarajevo Film Festival, it helps participants enhance their storytelling and editing while connecting them to industry stakeholders. Projects will be showcased during the Sarajevo Film Festival, a premier platform for European documentaries.
