Baltic Sea Docs, the premier documentary co-production pitching forum in the #Baltic region, has officially opened its call for project submissions for its 29th edition. The event will take place from 21 August to 5 September 2025, in Riga, Latvia, with applications accepted until 9 May 2025.

Renowned for fostering international collaboration, Baltic Sea Docs provides a vital platform for documentary filmmakers to pitch their projects to key industry stakeholders, including broadcasters, sales agents, and film funds. While the forum primarily focuses on feature-length creative documentaries, it also welcomes documentary animation and cross-media projects. Selected participants will engage in an intensive program featuring pitch training sessions, one-on-one meetings with decision-makers, industry seminars, and networking events.

A highlight of the event is the Coming Soon session, showcasing up to four films currently in post-production that were previously pitched at Baltic Sea Docs. Additionally, a curated film program will be presented to the public, expanding the reach of contemporary documentary cinema beyond industry circles.

The call for entries is open to independent production companies from the Baltic Sea region, #Eastern Europe#, and the #Caucasus, with filmmakers from other European countries eligible if their projects are regionally relevant or involve a co-producer from the area. Participation is free of charge, offering selected teams a unique opportunity to refine their artistic vision and explore financing prospects.
