Budapest welcomes 2023 dok.incubator documentary workshop

dok.incubator is set to make its grand entrance to Budapest from 25 June to 2 July. The workshop brings together esteemed film festivals like Sundance, Toronto, and Hot Docs, providing an exclusive opportunity to preview and select international documentaries in progress for their respective competitions.

This event is not just about the film selection; it also offers invaluable networking opportunities for decision makers, sales agents, broadcasters, and industry experts. Visionary programmers, leading sales agents from Cinephil, Square Eyes, Dogwoof, and CAT&Docs, alongside broadcasters from ARTE, HBO, and Viaplay, will share insights into the current state of the documentary industry. Topics include AI in documentary filmmaking, effective distribution strategies, and impactful marketing campaigns.

In an exciting first, dok.incubator introduces its own co-production forum, fostering collaborations among producers primarily from the Visegrad countries. With 11 projects and various producers, production houses, and funds in attendance, this forum promises to ignite captivating new ventures. The Budapest workshop, organized in collaboration with MADOKE and supported by the National Film Institute Hungary, takes place at the esteemed Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME Budapest), a renowned design university and innovation center in the CEE region.
