Docu Rought Cut Boutique, from #Sarajevo Film Festival# and the Balkan Documentary Center, and supported by Creative Europe Media, have announced 5 projects for their special 10 year anniversary edition held online. The 5 selected projects will screen via #FestivalScope on 16 August 2020 starting at 16:00 as part of the 2020 Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.
Across three modules based in #Budapest, #Sofia, and #Sarajevo, that were done all online this year, the selected projects have received group and individual meetings many of Europe’s most respected members of the documentary community. As part of Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Days, the projects will be screened for the international market…and this will be the beginning of a great journey.
On the 2020 Docu Rough Cut Boutique, its directors Rada Sesic and Martichka Bozhilova say:
Our documentary boutique has space for only five projects, and we opted for those that we found the most cinematically exciting author-driven projects with enormous international potential. Three out of five projects connect lucidly and inventively the past, and the contemporary time, two are deepening into topics that deal with women and are done by female teams. A few directors are making their feature-length debuts, and all five of them are trying hard to find their cinematic handwriting. We believe that these five remarkable, out-of-the-box upcoming films, will bring into the limelight important narratives from our region, those that are bursting with the necessity to be shared with the rest of the world. We remain faithful to our primary standpoint to have creative, author-driven, and ambitious documentaries from the region and to support these fantastic endeavours.
