On Sunday, 17 November, #dok.incubator will present a preview of eight new documentaries at Amsterdam’s LAB 111 as part of #IDFA. This exclusive showcase highlights a selection of feature-length films exploring topics from individual struggles and cultural shifts to geopolitical tensions and social transformation.

The 2024 lineup includes emotionally charged stories, such as Always, about a young poet in rural #China grappling with loss; Love Exposed, which navigates the complexities of healing from childhood trauma; 9-Month Contract, a Georgian woman’s challenging journey as a surrogate mother; Child of Dust, one man’s search for his American father after being left behind following the Vietnam War; I Hear Your Voice, portraying a Tel Aviv director’s quest for family safety amid ongoing conflict; The Roots of Madness, a reflection on geopolitical tensions; The Town that Drove Away, documenting the fate of a submerged #Kurdish town; and Supernatural, exploring the clash between #mysticism and conventional medicine.

Set to premiere soon, these documentaries follow in the footsteps of previous successful dok.incubator films, including those showcased in IDFA’s Best of Fests. For over a decade, dok.incubator has supported films that go on to achieve critical acclaim, including #Sundance entries and Emmy nominations. The 2024 preview, open by invitation only.
