FIFDH #Impact Days# 2026 will open on Thursday 15 January with an online webinar on how documentary filmmakers and their partners can build effective teams for social change campaigns. Titled «Impact Filmmaking for Social Justice: Do Yourself a Favour — Choose the Right Team!», the 75-minute session runs from 14:00 to 15:15 CET and is aimed at filmmakers, NGOs, impact practitioners and funders interested in using film to advance human rights.

The discussion and Q&A will focus on the composition of an «ideal» impact campaign team: who does what, how to define realistic impact goals, and how to identify collaborators who can deliver them. Using recent campaigns such as Our Land, Our Freedom and Battle for Laikipia as reference points, the webinar will examine concrete workflows rather than abstract theory.

Speakers include South African advocacy and campaigning strategist Ishtar Lakhani, co-founder of Rogue Union, a global learning and community platform for social and environmental justice work. Lakhani also runs the consulting practice Mischief Managed and has worked across feminist campaigns for survivors of sexual violence and advocacy for sex workers’ rights. In 2020 she was included in the BBC’s «Top 100 Women» list.

She will be joined by Prince Odera Onyore Nyambok II of Kenya, Communications & Outreach Manager at DocA – Documentary Africa. A former TV host of The Great Debaters Contest and creator of its spin-off Connect Edition, he co-designed DocA’s Real Reel Impact programme and oversees campaigns for films including Our Land, Our Freedom.

The webinar will also feature a presentation from GIPA, introducing a searchable directory of impact practitioners by issue, language, expertise and location – designed to help teams locate impact producers, consultants and partners for future campaigns.
