FIPADOC unveils first details and films for 2023 festival

FIPADOC will run from 20 to 28 January 2023 for its fifth edition and in an extended format. This format includes two weekends starting and will offer nearly 100 films, 5 exclusive documentary series and 4 documentary web series, 25 short films and 25 digital experiences. Now, the first details of the 2023 FIPADOC have been announced, starting with its opening night.

The opening evening will be a large dreamlike, and immersive cinema concert. In a world premiere, the film 29 173 NM (dir. Romain de la Haye-Serafini, Vincent Bonnemazou), in the presence of artist-videographer-composer Molécule, who composed the original soundtrack and who will accompany the film’s screening with a live remix.

Focus programme highlights the Baltic region of Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Finland, while the guest of Honour will be the country of Ukraine. /p>

Additionally, new Impact and Musical competitions have been announced. In addition to the musical documentary films, for the first time, operation CRESCENDO will commence, featuring six composers who are invited to the festival to present their musical world and meet the festival’s attending professionals.

Finally, in its 5th edition, FIPADOC confirms its position as the first major international documentary event of the year for industry professionals. In 2023, the festival will take on a special dimension as the French Year of Documentary.
