Ji.hlava IDFF opens submissions for 2023 New Visions Forum

Film enthusiasts and industry professionals, mark your calendars for October 26–27, as the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum returns with its 27th edition at the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival (IDFF). The forum, a prominent platform for emerging talent in the European documentary scene, will feature the pitching of 18 captivating projects in various stages of development, production, and post-production.

With an emphasis on artistic vision, originality, and author-driven storytelling, the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum welcomes a diverse range of audiovisual formats. Documentary films, fiction with documentary aspects, hybrid creations, experimental works, short films, docu and web series, cinema expanded projects, games with documentary elements, and VR/AR/live documentaries are all eligible for submission.

A key highlight of this year’s event is the opportunity for filmmakers to present their projects in person. The forum aims to foster collaboration, facilitate networking, and create a space for fruitful exchanges between film professionals and other stakeholders in the industry. Accredited attendees at the festival will have the chance to engage with the selected projects firsthand.

Submission to the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum is completely free, offering an inclusive platform for filmmakers to showcase their work. By applying to this call, participants will also be considered for the Ji.hlava New Visions Market, maximizing their exposure and potential industry opportunities. In addition, the chosen project will be awarded two complimentary Industry Accreditations.

The call for submissions is now open, the deadline is August 15, 2023. Submit your projects here.
