Each year, creative minds working in various disciplines are invited to submit project proposals via Berlin’s interdisciplinary-focused #Forecast Platform# open call. Now, Forecast Platformhas announced its six mentors for its seventh edition—investigative journalist #Alia Ibrahim# (LB), artist #Ana Prvački# (RS/RO), stand‐up comedian #Daliso Chaponda# (MW), choreographer #Florentina Holzinger# (AT), nonfiction filmmaker Laura Huertas Millán (FR/CO), and vocalist #Rully Shabara# (ID).
In the current climate of uncertainty and social distancing, Forecast seeks to define audacious paths forward for practices that thrive and rely on corporeal, unmediated situations, bringing aboard mentors to engage with practices defined by immediate encounters, either with the work’s subject matter or audience. The mentorship offers artists and creative thinkers the chance to bring their projects to fruition, transcending neatly defined disciplines and genres to provide insight into creative production processes.
For 2022, the six Forecast Platform mentorship fields are:
- A Dance with Reality – Alia Ibrahim
- Slapstick and Seduction – Ana Prvački
- Humor and Storytelling – Daliso Chaponda
- Bodies in Action – Florentina Holzinger
- Reworlding Stories – Laura Huertas Millán
- Your Voice is Your Sound – Rully Shabara
