The Movies that Matter Festival, scheduled from 21 to 29 March in The Hague, has announced its Industry Days programme, focusing on the intersection of film and #human rights#. This year’s lineup includes workshops, panel discussions, impact plan pitches, and masterclasses for global filmmakers and industry professionals.
Highlights of the Industry Days Programme
- International Delegations: The festival will host delegations of filmmakers and producers from Ukraine, South Africa, Nepal, Morocco, and Kenya, providing a platform for diverse voices and perspectives.
- Take on Film and Impact: Includes an Inspirational Morning with case studies, panel discussions, and keynotes on audience design and the convergence of sales and impact, alongside a panel discussion on impact funds.
- Pitches & One-on-Ones: Ten selected teams will present their projects and impact goals to NGOs, international organizations, and industry experts.
- The Mission of the New Maker: Organized in collaboration with NFF and CoBo, this session focuses on the role and safety of emerging filmmakers.
- Take on Journalism & Censorship: Features industry experts including Jihan El-Tahri (Al Jazeera) and Santiago Maza Stern (State of Silence), discussing press freedom.
- Take on Scaling Up Your Film: Explores strategies for maximizing a film’s impact beyond the screening room.
- Take on New Beginnings: AMIR and the Buddy Film Foundation present three impactful films followed by discussions with the filmmakers.
Most Industry Days events are free to attend, but reservations are required. Participants are encouraged to register in advance to secure their spots.
