The Female Filmmakers Support Programme has selected seven projects for its second edition, with the recipients announced during Slano Film Days 2026 in Croatia. Established in 2024 by the UNIQA SEE FUTURE Foundation with Sarajevo Film Festival and Slano Film Days, the initiative supports women filmmakers working across Southeast Europe.
The selection comprises Marta Popivoda’s essay film Body in Plural, Mila Turajlić’s documentary Citizens of Beauty, Ilinca Călugăreanu’s documentary Anatomy of Indifference, Una Gunjak’s feature How Melissa Blew a Fuse, Katarina Bulajić’s Leech, Jelena Maksimović’s Until the Day Ends and Daria Blažević’s The Swamp.
The projects will receive tailored financial and professional assistance supporting production and post-production. Participants will also gain access to CineLink Industry Days through its Industry Training and Skills Programme, extending the initiative beyond project funding into mentorship, networking and professional development.
The programme focuses on filmmakers connected to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia. UNIQA SEE FUTURE Foundation manager Petra Šolman described the selection as evidence that the initiative’s impact was «deepening and widening with each passing year», while recognising the programme’s growing role in supporting women-led regional cinema.
