For the first time in the history of Sunny Side of the Doc, three Chilean documentary projects have been selected to participate in the international pitch sessions. Taking place from 23–26 June in La Rochelle, France, the market brings together global industry professionals to promote co-productions and the distribution of factual content.

The selected projects span three categories: Unveiling the Cosmos will be featured in the Science Pitch, The Letelier File in the History Pitch, and South Pole Explorers in the Nature & Environment Pitch. Each title is backed by a Chilean production company — Cábala Films, La Ventana Cine, and Oxitocine, respectively—and supported by #Chiledoc, the country’s documentary promotion initiative.

The selected films explore topics ranging from astronomy and Antarctic exploration to Cold War-era political intrigue. Unveiling the Cosmos follows the Vera C. Rubin Observatory’s efforts to map the night sky in near real-time. South Pole Explorers captures cutting-edge scientific expeditions in Antarctica, while The Letelier File investigates the 1976 assassination of former Chilean ambassador Orlando Letelier in Washington, D.C.

In addition to pitch sessions, the Chilean delegation will engage in bilateral co-production meetings with producers from #Germany and #Belgium. Chiledoc will also host a national stand to facilitate business meetings and networking with global industry representatives.
