Sunny Side of the Doc announces full 2022 Global Pitch projects

After yesterday’s press conference, Sunny Side of the Doc has unveiled its official pitch selection for the 33rd edition. The 2022 Sunny Side of the Doc will take place in La Rochelle, France from 20 to 23 June. Projects from each session will be chosen by a jury of international industry experts. And the eight winners will each receive a cash prize of €3,000 from the respective pitch session sponsors.

For 2022, 48 projects from 22 countries (including submissions from new countries Jordan, Iceland, Kenya, the United Arab Emirates and Slovenia) will be presented across 8 pitching sessions split into three major categories, and supported or sponsored by major industry partners. The projects each deal with topics such as Global Issues, Wildlife & Conservation, Science, History, Arts & Culture, and can also appear in the market’s Création Digitale and Talent Hub New Voices.

Of the projects, 2 out of 5 come from young directors championing their first or second documentary output, and 50.7% of submissions came from women.
