The Chilean documentary series The Letelier File has won Best History Pitch and the Lionel Guenoun Prize at Sunny Side of the Doc. The awards recognise the series’ compelling investigation into the 1976 car bomb assassination of former Chilean ambassador #Orlando Letelier# in Washington, D.C., and the global intelligence network behind it.

Produced by La Ventana Cine, known for Chicago Boys, the project is directed by Rafael Valdeavellano and Nicolás Acuña, with Mitzy Saldivia producing and veteran journalist #Carola Fuentes# serving as showrunner. Still in production, the series marks a major international co-production effort, now joined by partners in Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany.

The Chilean presence at Sunny Side of the Doc 2025 included three projects across different pitch categories, reflecting the country’s expanding influence in the non-fiction media industry.
