The WHY launches Arabic language Youtube channel

THE WHY has recently launched a new YouTube channel dedicated to the more than 400 million Arabic-speaking people of the world.

Over the past months, 10 films from its WHY STORIES catalogue were donated to the channel, and will soon be available online, fully dubbed in Arabic. THE WHY Foundations’ WHY STORIES is a series of thought-provoking and inspiring documentary films about the current world we live in. It also brings these critically acclaimed documentaries to international communities around on a sliding-fee scale, which are donated to underfunded broadcasters and dubbed into local languages.

The full catalogue will be available in the coming months, with three films currently available on the channel. They are:

    • Please Vote for Me (dir. Weijun Chen) – China
    • Iron Ladies of Liberia (dir. Siatta Scott Johnson & Daniel Junge) – USA
    • Egypt: We Are Watching You (dir. Leila Menjou & Sherief Fahmy) – Egypt
