An inseparable and invaluable part of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, #Agora Docs# will take place from June 25 to July 4, 2021. Documentary filmmakers are now invited to submit their films to the Agora Doc Market, the Docs in Progress, and the Thessaloniki Pitching Forum sections.

For filmmakers with a documentary in post-production and seek distribution, the deadline to submit to Agora Docs in Progress is 20 April 2021. Selections for the new Agora Docs initiative aimed at Greek filmmakers’ project development, Agora Lab will also be part of those submitted to Agora Docs in Progress.

For those developing documentaries, the Thessaloniki Pitching Forum also holds a 20 April 2021 deadline. Projects here explore the limits of documentary through the inclusion of TV and creative documentaries, documentaries for children, and new media projects.

Additional aspects of the 2021 Agora Docs will be a focus on Serbian up-and-coming documentary filmmakers at «Meet the Future». Doc Counselling, another new aspect of Agora Docs, will provide hands-on one-on-one consultancy sessions on topics like festival strategy, documentary funding, distribution, Media desk help, TV buys, social media, and marketing. Finally, the Agora Doc Market video-library will again host around 400 films produced within the last two years and gives the opportunity to filmmakers to present them to the 100 or so invited film professionals attending the festival.
