The prestigious #Doc Alliance# has revealed its nominees for the 2024 Doc Alliance Award. The programmers of its member festivals have selected 16 films, both feature-length and shorts. The nominees will compete for top honours in the categories of Best Feature and Best Short.
This year’s selections for Best Feature include:
- Balomania by Sissel Morell Dargis (Denmarkk)
- The Gate by Jasmin Herold and Michael David Beamish (Germany)
- In Limbo by Alina Maksimenko (Poland, Ukraine)
- Iron Butterflies by Roman Liubyi (Ukraine, Germany)
- The Landscape and the Fury by Nicole Vögele (Switzerland)
- Losing Faith by Martha Mechow (Austria, Germany)
- The Melusinas at the Edge of the River by Melanie Pereira (Portugal)
- You Will Never See It All by Štěpán Pech (Czech Republic, Slovakia)
Competing for Best Short are:
- Crushed by Camille Vigny (Belgium)
- Finale by Marlene Lyngstad (Denmark)
- getty abortions by Franzis Kabisch (Germany, Austria)
- Grandmamauntsistercat by Zuza Banasińska (Netherlands, Poland)
- I Stumble Every Time I Hear From Kyiv by Daryna Mamaisur (Belgium, Ukraine, Portugal, Hungary)
- Like the Glitch of a Ghost by Paula Albuquerque (Netherlands, Portugal)
- The Most Beautiful Corner in the World by Róbert Mihály (Slovakia)
- Smoke of the Fire by Daryna Mamaisur (Portugal, Ukraine, Belgium, Hungary)
Each of the participating Doc Alliance festivals has nominated one feature-length and one short film. This year’s jury comprises Olivia Cooper-Hadjian, Beatrice Fiorentino, and Marko Grba Singh. They will present their final decisions during the Doc Day at the Marché du Film, held at the Festival de Cannes.
