EFP (European Film Promotion) and CPH:DOX have renewed their partnership on EUROPE! Docs, a second-year initiative designed to boost the visibility of standout European documentaries with North American buyers and distributors through an online industry showcase held ahead of the festival.

Jointly curated by EFP and the CPH:DOX programming team, the 2026 selection spotlights six European titles drawn from the festival’s main competition DOX:AWARD, with the initiative positioned as an add-on to CPH:MARKET activity and broader CPH:INDUSTRY networking. CPH:DOX’s 23rd edition runs 11-22 March 2026 in Copenhagen, with an opening gala set for March 10.

The curated line-up combines archival rediscovery, hybrid form, and geopolitically grounded character stories. Nathan Grossman’s Amazomania (Sweden/France/Denmark) revisits previously released footage from a 1996 expedition among the Korubo people, reframing first contact and its aftermath. Ian Purnell’s Arctic Link (Switzerland) blends visual essay and documentary observation around a fibre-optic cable-laying vessel and an Alaskan community as they negotiate the promises and risks of connectivity in a warming world. Karl Friis Forchhammer’s Christiania (Denmark) traces five decades inside Copenhagen’s contested «free town,» from consensus ideals to internal tensions and external pressure.

Also selected are Nolwenn Hervé’s The Cord (France), following a maternity worker navigating Venezuela’s fragile health system, and Rachel Taparjan’s Something Familiar (Romania/UK), which begins with one adoptee’s search and expands into a personal reckoning with family history. Pieter-Jan De Pue’s 16mm-shot Mariinka (Belgium), a long-term portrait of young Ukrainians shaped by war in the Donbas, has additionally been named CPH:DOX 2026’s opening film.

Beyond the pre-festival showcase, EUROPE! Docs includes a targeted press and promotional campaign, an online press event with industry media, filmmaker market prep, and an on-site networking event at CPH:FORUM to facilitate meetings with U.S. decision-makers.
