CPH:DOX announces 2023 opening film

Greenlandic-Danish film Twice Colonized will be the 2023 CPH:DOX (15 – 26 March) opening film. The film from Director Lin Alluna will also compete in the NEXT:WAVE competition. The opening night of CPH:DOX 2023 will take place on 15 March at the international concert venue in Copenhagen, DR Koncerthuset.

Twice Colonized asks: how can we rewrite the history of colonialism and improve living conditions for Indigenous people? These questions are the filmmaker and renowned Inuit lawyer Aaju Peter in the film. The fierce activist and lawyer has led a lifelong fight for the rights of Indigenous people. In the film, audiences journey alongside Aaju through the social and personal wreckage of sanctioned white dominance to transform hardship into something amazing and empowering that can inspire others to make a difference. As Aaju says «If we work together, it will get better!»
