DOK Leipzig and the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival have launched «Doc Together,» a new initiative aimed at supporting filmmakers who have been displaced, forced to flee, or face challenging working conditions in their home countries. The program seeks to provide access to funding and industry support at their current locations, whether in exile or within their home countries, particularly for those excluded from national funding opportunities.

The initiative was officially introduced yesterday at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival. Nadja Tennstedt, Head of DOK Industry at DOK Leipzig, and Angeliki Vergou, Head of Agora at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival, presented «Doc Together» alongside filmmaker and producer #Talal Afifi#, founder of the Sudan Film Factory, and producer Thomas Kaske of Seera Films. The panel was moderated by #Alex Shiriaieff#, co-founder of #B2B Doc# and Chief Executive Producer of the Euro Arctic Media Group.

«Doc Together» will host events at both festivals to discuss these challenges and amplify the voices of affected filmmakers. Selected filmmakers will have the opportunity to showcase their work and connect with potential supporters.
