dok.incubator seeks ambitious rough cuts for six month workshop

dok.incubator has sent out the 2021 call for projects for their six-month-long workshop. The call is open to editors, directors, and producers and is focused on professional development through the guidance of renowned industry tutors.

The eight selected projects will focus on their film’s unique perspective, while sharpening its storytelling, placing it within the international context, and finding concrete tools to effectively approach future audiences. The workshop will consist of intensive work on editing, distribution, and audience-building upgrades. By the end, each rough-cut will transform into a high-end film of worldwide interest. Final projects will then be presented to decision-makers at the 2021 Nordisk Panorama Film Festival.

This, the 10th season of dok.incubator, will take place across three sessions and in a hybrid format. The first, in April 2021 will be online, while the second (June 2021) and third (September 2021), will take place in the Czech Republic and Sweden, respectively.

With the recent release of the 2021 Sundance Film Festival programme, looking back at last year saw the 2019 dok.incubator workshop provide three features in that festival’s world documentary competition: Acasă, My Home (dir. Radu Ciorniciuc), The Earth Is Blue As an Orange (dir. Iryna Tsilyk), and Once Upon a Time in Venezuela (dir. Anabel Rodríguez Ríos).

The DEADLINE to apply is 27 January, 2021. Find all information and how to apply – HERE
