After the announcement of Echoes of Ji.hlava IDFF in Bucharest, the festival also brings outstanding films from its 26th edition to New York from 6 – 9 March. The Echoes of Ji.hlava IDFF will take place in the Bohemian National Hall and was curated by representatives of #MoMA, #UnionDocs, and Maysles Documentary Center.
The Echoes will be opened on March 6 by a double screening of 7:15 – Blackbird (dir. Judith Auffray), awarded as the Best World Documentary Film 2022, and Deserters (dir. Damir Markovina), awarded as the Best Central and East European Documentary Film and Best sound design. Next on the program will be Those Who Dance in the Dark (dir. Jana Ševčíková) screened on March 7. The showcase will be winded up by the film Kunstkamera – the latest work by legendary Czech surrealist filmmaker #Jan Švankmajer#! All films will be screened in their US premiere.
Admission is free of charge, subject to a prior registration on the website of the Czech Centre New York.
