Doclisboa announces 2021 industry-focused Nebulae programme

Doclisboa’s industry space, Nebulae will hold its third edition in a hybrid format between 21-31 October 2021. Film professionals from all over the world will meeting Lisbon between the 21 and 25 October, during which the on-site activities will take place. Online activities will run until October 31st.

In the first two editions, Nebulae already welcomed more than 1000 film professionals, representing over 70 countries. This edition will work with a digital platform, in partnership with WYTH, where it will be possible to access all online events and selected projects from Croatia – Invited Country and Arché programme (12 projects from Portugal, Spain and Latin America to be announced soon).

In collaboration with the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, there are nine projects from Croatia to which we have added two projects that will represent the invited countries of the two previous Nebulae editions: Germany and Georgia.

Following the Croatia focus, the Invited School of the «Green Years» section will be the Academy of Dramatic Arts of the University of Zagreb, one of the most important film schools in the country. We will screen a programme of 16 films building a retrospective on the school’s filmography from the 1970s to the present.

«State of the Art» returns to Nebulae, bringing filmmakers, producers, and distributors closer to spaces associated with contemporary art that have also developed consistent work in film programming.

Once again, Nebulae will also host the Filmmaking Seminar, organized in collaboration with UnionDocs.

Center for Documentary Art, which will be attended by the winners of the 2022 UNDO Fellowship. The Seminar (for selected participants) will take place between the 23rd and 26th of October, in a hybrid format to explore radical cinema practices and the expanding languages of documentary cinema.
