The first annual Nordic Documentary Producer Award is set to debut at the 2023 #Nordisk Panorama# (21-26 September 2023). This collaborative effort by six Nordic film industry associations aims to recognise the invaluable contributions of producers in the realm of documentaries.

The award honours producers who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, courage, and a willingness to take risks, driving the growth of emerging talents and advancing the art of documentaries. The winner will be revealed at the Nordisk Panorama Awards Gala in Malmö, Sweden, receiving a substantial prize sum of 10,000 euros.

One producer from each of the five Nordic countries will be nominated based on their outstanding work completed within the last five years. These nominations, coordinated by the national directors’ guilds, provide an opportunity for directors to honour the producers who have supported their creative visions. The Nordic Documentary Producer Award deepens pan-Nordic cooperation within the film industry while celebrating the achievements of documentary producers across the region. The Nordisk Panorama board will choose the recipient collectively, comprising representatives from each Nordic country.
