Porto/Post/Doc announces full programme details for 2022 festival

    After announcing initial programme details, including the works of Márta Mészáros, Miklós Jancsó and Sierra Pettengill (Riotsville, USA), Porto/Post/Doc has announced its full schedule for the 2022 festival, held between 16 – 26 November.

    Opening the festival will be Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song, a film directed by Daniel Geller and Dayna Goldfine, which will also be part of the Transmission Competition. The awards ceremony will screen All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, the Venice Film Festival-winning film directed by Laura Poitras about artist and activist Nan Goldin.

    The Cinema Falado Competition, focused on works produced in Portuguese-speaking countries, will include the premiere of the new film by Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela (Águas e Espelhos), Ery Claver (Nossa Senhora da Loja do Chinês), Rodrigo Ribeiro-Andrade (Solmatalua) and Ricardo Leite (As Maçãs Azuis), as well as the exhibition of Viagem ao Sol directed by Susana De Sousa Dias and Ansgar Schaefer, Águas do Pastaza directed by Inês T. Alves and Mangrove School directed by Filipa César and Sónia Vaz Borges.

    Further programme highlights include four conversations addressing the specific issues on the representations of mental health in film and creative works with the participation and contributions of neurodiverse people. There will also be a children’s program,e (School Trip), with proposals aimed at schools and families, the traditional Cinema Novo Competition (with school films), as well as its Industry program, designed for national and international cinema professionals.
