Roman Polanski documentary to open 61 Krakow Film Festival

    On 30 May, 2021, the 62st Krakow Film Festival will open with Polański, Horowitz. Hometown (dir. Mateusz Kudła, Anna Kokoszka-Romer).

    The film, an international premiere and polish competition selection, follows Roman Polanski and photographer Ryszard Horowitz who, after several dozens years, reunite on the streets of Kazimierz and the former ghetto, visiting the homes where they spent their boyhood, remember those who are no longer there, but also those who survived the Holocaust.

    The film drew attention last year when Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem Institute the «Righteous Among the Nations» title to the family who hid Polański in a village near Wadowice during the war. Ryszard Horowitz also owes his life to another «Righteous Among the Nations» recipient— Oskar Schindler.
