The 14th Beldocs International Documentary Film Festival, to be held 9-16 September in Belgrade, Serbia, consists of more than 100 documentaries and VR/AR content. For 2021, Beldocs will once again screen selected films at several open-air locations, as well as returning to indoor screening rooms with the majority of films will also available online through the beldocs.rs website.
The Beldocs International Competition will feature 11 films from all over the world including the likes of This Rain Will Never Stop (dir. Alina Gorlova), Zaho Zay, Esqui (dir. Manque La Banca), and more.
This year’s Serbian Competition gathers seven recent Serbian documentaries or those made in co-production with countries from the region or Europe and the world. This selected ion includes Landscapes of Resistance (dir. Marta Popivoda), Roots (dir. Tea Lukač), The Bird (or – Marty, the Clown) (dir. Oliver Ćirić), and more.
In addition to these films, the Festival will feature the works of other great documentarians such as Frederick Wiseman’s City Hall, Massimo D’Anolfi and Martina Parenti’s War and Peace, Milo Rau’s The New Gospel, Vitaly Manski’s Gorbachev. Paradise and Reka Valerik’s controversial Silent Voice, recently banned in Russia and many other cinematic delights.
