We the 25th edition of Baltic Sea Forum for Documentaries (BSD) has opened its call for projects, which will end on 11 June, 2021. This, the most important documentary training and pitching event in the Baltic countries, takes place in Riga, Latvia in a hybrid form from 1 – 12 September 2021.

BSD is looking for independent production companies from the wider Baltic Sea region countries (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden), Eastern Europe and Caucasus region, and from other countries if the documentary subject relates to the region to apply. Though the primary focus is on full-length creative documentary projects, cross-media applications are also welcome. 18 projects will then be selected by an international committee to be pitched to broadcasters, sales agents, film funds, and other industry representatives.

Past films presented at BDS include My Favorite War (dir. Giedrė Žickytė) and This Rain Will Never Stop (dir. Alina Gorlova).
