The #CPH:CONFERENCE, scheduled as part of the #CPH:DOX 2024, is themed «RE:BUILDING NARRATIVES». It aims to facilitate discussions on inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation in documentary filmmaking. The conference, developed in collaboration with #Documentary Campus#, will feature a range of speakers from the documentary filmmaking community and the broader industry.
Participants include filmmakers such as #Alex Gibney#, #Johan Grimonprez#, and Laura Huertas Millan, as well as industry professionals Jessica Harrop of #Sandbox and Marie Nelson of #Hot Docs#.
The event will commence with a session by the DISCO Network on March 18, discussing ‘Our Declaration of Independence’ to highlight the significance of independent documentaries.
From 19-21 March, the conference will feature two morning segments: ‘A MORNING WITH’, focusing on filmmakers’ creative processes and experiences, and ‘FILM:MAKERS IN DIALOGUE’, facilitating discussions on recent projects and cinematic innovations.
Afternoon sessions titled ‘Re:Building Narratives’ will address themes of accessibility and equity in documentary filmmaking, with panels curated around #society, #art, and #science perspectives.
The conference concludes on 22 March with the ‘CLIMATE STORY LAB NORDIC’, a session dedicated to climate justice storytelling, part of a global initiative aimed at crafting impactful narratives for climate action.
