In its 21st year, #CPH:DOX showcases an ambitious lineup of over 200 films, which includes 84 world premieres, 32 international premieres, and 9 European premieres. Running from 13-24 March 2024, CPH:DOX innovates with a nationwide festival strategy, inaugurating thematic sections that dissect the most pressing issues of our era, from the nuances of #geopolitics to the complexities of #body politics#.

A notable expansion this year is the festival’s reach into 42 Danish municipalities. The array of world premieres are Apollo Thirteen: Survival, a historical exploration, and films like I Shall Not Hate and Life and Other Problems, which delve into contemporary social issues.

The competitive edge of the festival is sharpened by its award categories, adjudicated by an international jury, including the DOX:AWARD, F:ACT AWARD, NORDIC:DOX AWARD, NEXT:WAVE AWARD, NEW:VISION AWARD, and the introduction of the HUMAN:RIGHTS AWARD.

A significant focus on the Israeli-Palestinian #conflict, with films such as Familiar Phantoms and Silent Night, among the seven films dedicated to this topic, reflects the festival’s intention to engage with and offer insights into one of the most enduring geopolitical conflicts.

The festival’s exploration of «Body Politics» challenges prevailing notions of the physical self, prompting audiences to question mainstream definitions of the «normal body». Through films and discussions, this theme is articulated, inviting a reevaluation of our bodily perceptions.

CPH:DOX’s inclusion of luminaries such as #Peter Doherty#, showcased in Peter Doherty: Stranger in My Own Skin, and #Peaches, featured in Teaches of Peaches, bridges the gap between documentary cinema and cultural iconography, offering a rich tapestry of film, music, and dialogue.
