The sixth edition of the MajorDocs documentary film festival will run from 1 to 5 October, spotlighting cinematography and the creative process behind documentary filmmaking. This year’s guest of honour is acclaimed French filmmaker Nicolas Philibert, known for To Be and to Have and the Golden Bear-winning Sur l’Adamant. Philibert will open the festival and conduct a master class on his creative processes.
MajorDocs 2024 also introduces the CalmaDocs residency, tutored by filmmaker Diana Toucedo, culminating in a pitch session led by Zeynep Güzel from Berlinale Talents. The festival’s professional sessions will include a Doc Session with three directors of photography and a panel on festival challenges featuring international programmers.
The festival will also introduce mentorships for debut films, with results showcased during the event. Expanded Educa and Comunidad programs will connect diverse audiences with the festival, fostering enriching discussions around the films.
The full programme will be announced soon on the MajorDocs website, where professionals can now register with special discounts.
