The upcoming MDOC – Melgaço Documentary Film Festival, happening from July 31st to August 6th, has just announced its first international guest, #Maythem Ridha#. This renowned Iraqi filmmaker and photographer will be sharing his experiences in a captivating masterclass during the festival.

On August 4th at 10:00 am, at Casa da Cultura de Melgaço, Maythem Ridha will take the stage to provide valuable insights into his film and #photography projects in the challenging landscapes of the #Middle East# and #North Africa#. Despite often facing hostile environments, Ridha has excelled in pushing the boundaries of documentary and fiction, and attendees can expect to witness excerpts from his various captivating works.

Maythem Ridha’s achievements have earned him recognition worldwide, with his films being selected for esteemed festivals. Notably, his latest film, Ali and His Miracle Sheep, won the Best Film award at Sheffield Doc Fest 2021. Ridha’s talent extends to photography, where his work has been showcased in solo exhibitions and joint displays.

Aside from his artistic pursuits, Ridha actively participates in international projects and facilitates workshops and masterclasses in film and photography, contributing to the growth of aspiring talents in the industry.
