Transilvania International Film Festival finalises documentary offerings for 20th edition

    Aside from the documentaries featured in its Romanian Days and Whats Up, Doc? programme, the 20th Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) has rounded out its complete programmes with several more documentary offerings.

    From its Hungarian Day focus on Hungary, Asia Dér and Sári Haragonics’s Her Mothers is included. Pepe Andreu’s Lobster Soup, Miguel Angel Blanca’s Magaluf Ghost Town, and Javier Polo Gandía’s The Mystery of the Pink Flamingo make up non-fiction selects for Focus Spania. Steven Cantor’s 2016 profile in current TIFF special guest Sergei Polunin Dancer holds a special screening, while several short form documentaries screen as part of Romanian Shorts I and II sections. Finally, Romanian Days will also feature Catalin Apostol’s shocking The Border of Death.

    The 2021 Transilvania International Film Festival takes place 23 July – 1 August in Cluj-Napoca, Romania
